Practical Wisdom

After working at Knoll for three decades, design director Carl Magnusson is leaving the company and returning to school. "I've always felt that business people need more design, and design people need more business knowledge," he told our reporter, Cindy Coleman. We hope his syllabus includes "Design and Business: Bridging the Gap," a supplement I.D. produced with students and faculty at the Institute of Design at IIT. Conveniently, it's bound into this issue. Good luck to you, Carl!
